I’ve resolved to set aside a once or twice monthly weekday sanity break to avoid days like this – unscheduled sick leaves that are really breakdown days I should have seen coming. I can’t schedule weekends because Jasmin is usually out on Sundays and we often have family stuff going on during Saturdays, going to the dentist or pedia checkups, visiting friends, or just playing and chatting with Amy (she does most of the talking).

Scheduled days out mean I have a good reason to mute Viber and opt out of the thousand and one things people send to everyone at work, of which only 5% concern me directly.

And being the list maker I am, here’s what I want to do on my me days (cribbed from AOM’s Reset Day):

1. Fix/throw out/clean up stuff I’ve been putting off: loose buttons, a dirty makeup brush, gunk around my glasses, Amy’s stuff, our bric-a-brac desk.
2. Brain dump of open loops – questions, projects and commitments weighing on my mind in different aspects of my life (on my bullet journal): on being a wife, mom, writer/reader, believer, daughter, sister, friend, leader, teammate, advocate, and a healthy, productive human being (haha).
3. Get 10 minute things done: Close as many easy open loops as I can.
4. Review/create higher level goals (check monthly/yearly bujo goals): where am I on goal, trash/postpone/work on goal, what I can do now, how I can track it.
5. Adjust/create routines: daily, weekly, monthly.
6. Action plan to not get off track: like put it in habit tracker, set rewards.
7. Tie up 10 minute loose ends to start off new goals/routines: set reminders, message people, declutter.
8. Unwind: massage, read a book, take a walk among trees.

I’ll be trying this out today and adjust it as needed. 🙂
