With my eyes, with my nose, with my fingers, with my toes

I’m at a parents’ orientation for Daniel’s SPED school and I love this song because it reminds me of how, in my preschool, we learned with our whole bodies. We rolled around the carpet, we pounded the floor with musical sticks, we finger painted, we fed fish in the koi pond (I fell in one time during Loi Krathong), we raced around in the playground. The activities look promising, and it looks like Daniel is going to have a lot of fun here. I wonder if Amy will get jealous and want to move to his school, too. I wouldn’t mind if she did, it would be much easier for us and I think she’d be more engaged in a small community. But since Lulu will be in her school for at least a year, I think it would be nice for the two girls to spend some time together.

Lulu and Ribi came to visit last week, and the kids had a lot of fun at home and in the park.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of activities. I got to go to Cafe 408 for EXO-L Day and biked there with a Twitter (now X) friend. So much has been happening in Exoplanet these days that I can barely keep up: EXO Ladder S4 has begun, Chen just released new songs, Chanyeol is now the face of Ever Bilena, Suho has a crime/comedy drama (and is coming to the Philippines in November), and I’m watching Kyungsoo’s The Moon with Josh this afternoon. Whew!

Amy went to a BTS-themed birthday party and asked to get an EXO tattoo painted on her hand, haha. We also got to experience a Korean convenience store noodle station with her.

Bike-wise, Josh and I went to Magdamag Community Day and met Val and Nityalila there by chance; we had several bike dates; I tried “farting around” as advised by lolo Kurt Vonnegut and ran errands on my bike instead of ordering online, and it was good.

Work and work-adjacent: I went to Mica’s despedida with Digicom; I met Tish and caught up with her over cannoli and guava juice; Lou and I packed eggs and sundry at the GK PWD village then took the P2P to Paseo to brainstorm with the team; I rode the MRT home; I biked to Gabi ng LaGame in a dress.

We’re only midway through August! I met with Dr. K and I’m weaning off the last of my meds by November. We now have an ABA consultant and a speech therapist for Daniel. Amy will be riding a school bus, to her delight. DAKILA has an exciting lineup of things, from the Festival and the collectives, bolstered with Heroes Hub, the Commune, new partner schools and surprise allies. We can do this.
